Is it necessary to buy full coverage insurance for a motorcycle?
By comparing liability vs full coverage insurance for a motorcycle, the price certainly differs a lot. Still, a lot of people suggested to get full coverage insurance. But here is the question, say if you get a used motorcycle that cost 5000 dollars, liability cost 150 dollars a year vs full coverage cost 1200 dollars a year, is it worth it to get the full coverage? I have never bought a motorcycle in the past, I personally do not think its a smart idea. Since most people including myself would ride for pleasure, it will not be an everyday transportation, the chances of it being stolen by parking at the same location everyday is actually small. At the same time, even though it covers the motorcycle in a collision, but chances are I wouldn’t even going to care about the bike if I get into a serious accident(that’s probably the last time I am capable of riding a motorcycle again in my life). Or if I simply dropped it at a low speed, it’s not going to matter much on a used bike, plus in order to change OEM fairings, I will have to pay over the deductible either way unless the deductible is 50 or 100 dollars which makes the insurance even more expensive. That is just my opinion, like I said, never bought a motorcycle before, let me hear from all you motorcycle owners, thanks"
